Anthropic launches Claude Opus 5.5: near-Fable performance at roughly 20% lower price
On 22 September 2026 Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5, the first model in the 5.5 family: near Claude Fable 5.1 level on most work, about 20% lower per-token pricing than Opus 5 and roughly 40% lower typical workload cost, with the same cyber, bio and model-design safeguards.
