On October 7, 2026, Anthropic introduced Claude Haiku 5.5, a model for high-volume, cost-sensitive work that costs on average 75% less to run than Haiku 4.5, and at the same time halved the price of Sonnet 5.5 cache reads.
At DevDay (29 September 2026) OpenAI launched the ChatGPT Pro 500 plan ($500/month) with Ultrafast speed—up to 300 tokens/s in Codex—and said that from 30 October Pro 200 ($200) will fall from 20× to 10× the Plus allowance in Work and Codex. The Next Web and Engadget detail $2,500 credits for current subscribers through year-end.
