Google sunsets Gemini Gems, migrating them to “skills” from 17 November 2026
Google said it will shut down Gemini’s Gems feature on 17 November 2026 and automatically migrate those custom assistants into a “skills” format, invoked with a forward slash in a task thread. The change, reported by TechCrunch, The Verge and 9to5Google, arrives as Meta’s Muse and Instinct push more conversational all-in-one agents.
