ServiceNow launches AI Workflow Factory and Autonomous Engineer at its World Forum in Mumbai

ServiceNow unveiled in Mumbai AI Workflow Factory, a continuous loop that combines process mining, agent-driven building and workflow execution under AI Control Tower governance, and Autonomous Engineer, an unattended coding capability already being adopted by Indian partners such as Accenture and Infosys.

ServiceNow launches AI Workflow Factory and Autonomous Engineer at its World Forum in Mumbai

On October 6, 2026, at its World Forum in Mumbai, U.S. software company ServiceNow announced AI Workflow Factory and Autonomous Engineer, two solutions meant to help enterprises discover where AI can improve work and give them a single way to build, run and extend AI workflows. The company presents them as an answer to execution problems caused by fragmented, legacy infrastructure.

The central idea of AI Workflow Factory is to turn process improvement into a continuous loop, instead of launching a new transformation project every time a business problem appears. According to ServiceNow, each outcome helps reveal the next improvement opportunity, so AI transformation becomes repeatable.

The loop connects three pieces. Process Mining identifies which business processes should change and ties them to the KPIs that business units measure. Autonomous Engineer and Build Agent help teams build workflow improvements and control their quality. App Engine, finally, runs the new workflows safely and at scale.

ServiceNow offers a concrete example: increasing case deflection by 20% across several business units. Traditionally, an organization would assemble a specialized team and pilot in one unit before moving to the next. With AI Workflow Factory, Process Mining shows where cases can be deflected today, the “factory” builds the workflows and AI agents roll them out in parallel, refining them against the stated goal.

All of this happens within the guardrails set in AI Control Tower, ServiceNow's governance tool, which oversees the workflows, decisions and agent actions. The company stresses that people still set the direction and approve outcomes, while AI moves more of the work forward at scale.

Autonomous Engineer adds unattended coding capabilities to plan, build and test implementation work autonomously. According to the announcement, ServiceNow's partner ecosystem in India is already adopting AI Workflow Factory and deploying these new developer capabilities, with developers retaining control of critical decisions.

Two major integrators backed the launch. Bhaskar Babu, ServiceNow Business Group India lead at Accenture, said the next phase of AI demands connected execution, not fragmented solutions. Anant Adya, executive vice president at Infosys, explained that AI Workflow Factory and Autonomous Engineer, together with Infosys Topaz and Infosys Cobalt, will help enterprises move from isolated initiatives to continuously improving intelligent systems.

Amit Zavery, ServiceNow's president, chief operating officer and chief product officer, summed up the shift in demand: “Customers in India and around the world are no longer asking whether AI can improve the business — they are asking how fast they can turn that improvement into measurable outcomes, safely and at scale.”

Choosing India as the stage is no accident. According to ServiceNow's 2026 Enterprise AI Maturity Index, enterprise AI investment in India grew 119% in a single year, one of the strongest figures among the markets surveyed. The company argues that the challenge there is not ambition or speed but turning it into governed execution, closing integration gaps with legacy systems and avoiding uncontrolled solution sprawl.

For regulated sectors such as banking, insurance and telecommunications, ServiceNow highlights that its data centers in India provide resilience, auditability and the oversight needed to use AI responsibly. Through Action Fabric, AI Workflow Factory extends the same governed loop to third-party AI agents and tools, under one governance model and one audit trail.

In terms of availability, AI Workflow Factory has been globally available since October 6, while early access to Autonomous Engineer is offered on request. As usual with such announcements, the release includes forward-looking statement caveats: the capabilities and benefits described depend on product execution and on how AI regulation evolves.

The announcement coincides with SAP Connect, where SAP presented its own vision of the “Autonomous Enterprise.” Both reflect the same race: major enterprise software vendors are competing to be the governance layer from which in-house and third-party agents are coordinated, with centralized auditing and permissions as the main selling point.

In short, ServiceNow is betting on a self-reinforcing AI workflow “factory” and on agents able to code unattended, with India as its showcase market. The real value will depend on customers achieving measurable gains without losing control, a balance the company entrusts to its AI Control Tower.
